Hey, I am Kim!
I’m 29 years old, I was born in Offenbach, Germany and raised in the Negev desert in Israel in a small city called Arad. I moved back to Germany in 2012 and Iv’e been living in Berlin for the past 6 years. I recently graduated successfully at Design Akademie Berlin with a bachelor degree in photography.

My scheduled trip to Israel in May 2020 was canceled due to the corona virus. The project was done because of longing for the city where I grew in, Arad. Therefore the nostalgic vibe of the pictures. The chosen color palette suits the hot summer desert vibe, clear blue sky, brown sand and the light pink endless horizon.

A small editorial I did about the Negev desert in Israel. Using pictures from my last visit in 2018 and pictures I took in 2007 in our school trip to Mitzpe Ramon.
The one repeating element in the layout are the vertical side notes which mark the coordinates of the different locations the pictures were taken at: Arad, Mitzpe Ramon and other locations that are located in the Negev Desert.
The text in the layout is meant to be simple and informative. In the different pages you can read about the history of the Negev Desert: through the biblical reference, Iron age, 10th-19th century until today.
